ABOUT US
GIVE&GOĀ was founded by a few friends searching for new and creative ways to enjoy the beautiful game.
The first time we played back in November 2023 we were sitting on the floor of an apartment writing down prompts on ripped pieces of paper with no clear direction.
Today, GIVE&GO has been played by overĀ 400 people in 35 states and 5 countries.
The game, and everything around it, has been the work of multiple minds coming together to build something simple, fun, and easy-to-play with friends and family.
You can learn more by visiting our Blog, where we share company updates, roadtrips, and game nights with our growing community of GGers.

Give&Go was kind of an accident. A few footy friends were getting together in Salem, MA to hang out for the weekend and do some exploring.

We were talking about fun soccer drinking games.
We did a few quick google searches and couldn't find anything simple, fun, and accessible. Most games we came across had too many rules, a lot of pieces, and were a little expensive.
We wanted something simple, fun, and easy to learn (too much thinking hurts our brains). Thatās when the night took a turn. We ripped out pieces of paper, wrote down 75 prompts and started drawing cards. I think we all felt the magic that night, but we knew there was a long way to go. We called it Home&Away and it was just ok.
Over the next weeks, a few important things happened. First, we aligned on the actual goal or purpose of the game. We realized that many games out there had too much structure, too many rules, and too many complicated pieces. We purposefully decided to keep it simple and free-flowing, kinda like how we like to play and talk about the beautiful game. Second, we quickly iterated to create a content framework around our prompts so we could find the right balance of banter, quick-thinking, and slower, discussion-based responses.
We changed the name toĀ GIVE&GOĀ to lean into our footy roots and started building.
Test, Learn, Sip. Test, Learn, Sip.
That first night, our ripped pieces of paper were essentially a beta version of the game, but we knew there was still a lot of work to do. We spent those next few weeks organizing, changing, and simplifying our questions to better align with our audience of footy fans.Ā
In 3 weeks we had something that felt proper and good enough to start testing and sharing with friends. We got a handful of packs printed, shipped them out, and started playing in different cities - Boston, NYC, DC, Charlotte, Miami, and LA - and settings - at home, the pub, pick-up, bus rides, at work (shhhh).
Build Community.
This was, and still is, our #1 goal. Sure,Ā weĀ enjoy the game, but we wantĀ othersĀ to enjoy it too. It didnāt take long for us to start receiving feedback and responses like this:
- This is brilliant.
- I canāt believe this doesnāt exist.
- Gabe just gave me a pack of the cards you guys have been cookinā up. Just wanted to say itās fireĀ šæ.
- This game brought back so many footy memories I havenāt thought about in years.
This feedback was enough for us to feel good about the path we were on, so we put our heads down and have been working to further our strategy, brand, and creative content approach.
