Last week, we hosted a virtual game day on Twitch with RACS GANG, an esports community based in Los Angeles, CA.
I met the Founder a few months ago at The Football Boutique during a IRL game night with friends, family, and a handful of guests. We enjoyed an evening introducing GIVE&GO to a new community of fans, played for a handful of hours, and learned a lot about each others' soccer stories.
About halfway through the night we started talking about the virtual world of gaming and how GIVE&GO could "theoretically" be played in a virtual setting as well as the physical. We started brainstorming ideas, stayed in touch, and 4 weeks later hosted a live-stream on Twitch hosted by The GANG.
It was a new experience for us, but we led with simplicity and the hope that our game could function in a virtual setting. After a few weeks of planning we hit GO and jumped on with a group of us and a handful of others in the chat.
Our approach was to curate esports specific cards for the digital stream and then interweave physical cards on camera to create a space to share stories, learn about each other, and spread some footy knowledge.

The experience was unique and fun. And while there were some kinks we'll work out for next time, everyone really enjoyed this new gaming experience.
At the end of the day, GIVE&GO doesn't crown a winner or loser, rather it champions the desire to bring people together to learn new things and meet new people. There were jumping jacks, there was singing, and there was most definitely a lot of soccer knowledge being thrown around.
Our community would be what it is without people like RACS, Camino, and The Football Boutique and we want to shout them out for putting on another great event. There will be more of these to come, so stay tuned and check out some of the recap videos below:
